The Natural Fertility Plans

Many studies suggest that the key to a successful, healthy pregnancy is dependent upon many factors, including lifestyle, diet, environmental and occupational hazards, pollution, and infections. Likewise, inability to conceive can be complex. We have designed our programme to take account of all of these possible factors, and to support you through any changes that you may make to help you achieve your goal.

The pre-conception plans are designed for a period of at least three months. This is because it takes at least three months for eggs to mature enough to be released during ovulation. It also takes at least three months for sperm cells to develop, ready to be ejaculated. This means that when you are trying to improve your fertility, you need to have a four-month period before conceiving. This is called 'pre-conception care' and it's as important to take as much care during this period as it is during a pregnancy itself.

What you eat and drink, the air that you breathe, the environmental toxins that you are exposed to, and your stress levels during this time are important not just for your fertility, but also the success of your pregnancy and the future health of your baby.

Background to the Pre-conception Plans

A study conducted by the University of Surrey in conjunction with Foresight, (a charity which has pioneered a natural approach to fertility) showed that couples with a previous history of infertility who made changes in their lifestyle, diet and took nutritional supplements had an 80 percent success rate, compared with a 20 – 25% success rate for assisted conception. None of the babies were born before 36 weeks, and none were lighter than 5lb 2oz. In addition there were no miscarriages, perinatal deaths or malformations (the national average for miscarriages is one on four). Of the couples who had previously had unsuccessful IVF, 65% of these conceived naturally on the programme.
