| Reflexology uses gentle pressure on precise points on the feet, ankles and hands that influence corresponding parts of the body, soothing away tension. During an hour’s treatment, circulation, energy flow, nerve and glandular systems are stimulated to help restore the body’s own natural balance by helping to eliminate toxins, encouraging the body to revitalise itself.
Reflexology is particularly effective as a stress inhibitor, helping the whole body relax and increase the production of endorphins, the ‘feel good’ hormone. It is this effect that seems to be useful in helping infertility, as stress has a major impact on fertility.
Reflexology has also been found to help regulate hormone levels and the menstrual cycle, and can help women suffering from endometriosis and PCOS.
